Finding Housing in the Area

 

Finding housing is an important step for every student who is coming to the University of Minnesota. Here are some factors that will affect your choice of housing:

 

Location:     Do you want on-campus or off-campus?
Type:          Do you want an apartment, rooming house, or something else?
Condition:   Will it be new, old, large, or small?
Price:         How much are you willing to spend?

 

Students can expect to pay the following rental rates for units in the campus area. Rates are given per month and based on recent averages.

Unfurnished Apartments

Efficiency/Studio:   $500 - $900
One Bedroom:       $550 - $1200
Two Bedroom:       $700 - $1700
Four Bedroom:      $1250 - $2800
Apartment rental generally includes heat and water.

 

Unfurnished Duplexes and Houses
One Bedroom:      $550 - $750

Two Bedroom:      $690 - $1000

Three Bedroom:    $890 - $1400

Four Bedroom:     $990 - $2200

House and duplex rental generally does not include utilities.
